If climate change continues unchecked, the risks from heat, drought and heavy rainfall throughout Germany will increase sharply in the future. This is shown by the results of the Federal Climate Impact and Risk Assessment (KWRA), which was presented by the Federal Environment Ministry and the Federal Environment Agency.
The dialog focussed on best practice examples for provision and adaption to the consequences of climate change by the State, the federate states, the municipalities and non-governmental actors and presented selected results from the Monitoring Report 2019 concerning the German Adaption Strategy.
The Evaluation of the German Adaptation Strategy to Climate Change (DAS) (German) analyses the development and impact of the DAS. The insights gained and the recommendations derived from them have now been published in the first evaluation report. The evaluation focuses on the period since the publication of the progress report on the DAS in 2015.
